A $2.37 bulletin board bag!

I love using the clear bulletin board bags with the blue straps to store decorations in. However, they are expensive and I can't fit a full sized poster board in it. As I was taking down my decorations, I was trying to think of ways to store the large pieces of poster board. I was thinking of different bags that I could put them in. I thought of a trash bag, but that was too flimsy. Then I thought about a storage bin, but then I would have to bend the poster board for it to fit. Then it hit me. Garment bags! I purchased a suit garment bag for $2.37. A full sized poster board fits perfectly inside the bag, and you can hang it for easy storage. I love saving money! :)

Common Core Standards

So, I planned on being very productive this summer! This summer I have been lazy, having fun, watching TV for hours on end, going places, staying up late, and coming up with activities to use next year. While looking at the Common Core Standards, I realized that it is cumbersome to have to click all those links to get to where you want to go. So, I have compiled the standards into one document! This has made my life so much easier.

I uploaded the standards using Google Drive, formerly known as Google Docs. When you click the file type you want,  the document will open in Google Drive. Once opened, you will see a toolbar at the top. Click file, then click download to download the file. I am a visual learner, so here is a picture to help. :)

Numero UNO!

I have given some intense thought as to how my very first post would play out. After hours of deep pondering, I have drawn a blank. Don't you hate it when that happens? I have stalked other educational blogs to see how other educators have done it and realized that I have given it way too much thought! I love to save time and energy, and I have found that some amazing educators have blogs that allow me to do just that! I love this world of blogging, so I thought I would start a blog of my own.

This is my second year of teaching. I taught second grade last year, and this year I will be teaching first grade. I love being creative, and being a teacher allows me to create new things and to be inspired. It is finally summer (Can I get an AMEN?) and I will be working very hard to create many new things for the upcoming year.
